Easter Eggs 101

GG's editor just read (on Facebook) & heard (on the phone) a bit of last-minute Easter egg panic from some family & friends. So here are a few easy links. Martha Stewart, of course, can help you out of a jam. Also some last-minute decorating ideas with things around the house. (Another tip: Don't buy that awful fake grass. Just shred some colored paper that you can recycle later.) For fool-proof hard-cooked eggs, immediately go to Egg Watchers. It works & it's very funny too.

Hanukkah Crafts

Hanukkah begins at sunset on Wednesday, December 1st this year. (Crept up on you, didn't it?) Visit Vintage Holiday Crafts & Clip Art to download templates for projects. Also, click over to Martha Stewart for lots & lots of ideas & templates for gifts, decorations, & recipes.

We'll remind you later in the week, but if you live in the Washington, DC-area (or will be visiting), you might want to attend the lighting of the National Menorah. If that's the case, be sure to request tickets. They are free but they go fast. (images via Martha Stewart, Vintage Holiday)

Happy Thanksgiving!

We repeat last year's vintage card (still looking suspiciously like Hallowe'en-turned-Thanksgiving) because we must dash. For those celebrating here in the States, have a safe & great holiday.

Michelle & Barack Paper Dolls

Oh, calm down. Have a little fun. These are probably all over the web by now. There's really good Inaugural clip art for students, writers, bloggers, & anyone else. And that's coming up this week. But for now, here are those cute paper dolls. Make your own clothes (it's cold here in DC, & the Obama family has just arrived so make some nice winter accessories). Good luck to the girls on their first day of school today!

Vintage Christmas Cards By You

Vintage Holiday Crafts is a huge source of clip art for nearly every holiday & occasion. You can even make your own vintage-style gift certificate--for anything. We won't waste anyone's time listing, just visit. The rules are clear & the site is generous. It's hard to believe sometimes that anyone would do something like compile an enormous collection just because...but that appears to be the case.

We've purchased Martha Stewart's Handmade Christmas magazine...it's been years since buying anything like this...the animals-out-of-old-sweaters beckoned. Here is the link to the MS site's generous clip art & template section.
