Good luck to both teams tomorrow. We have to remain neutral at GG Central (it's better this way). If you're in the States & are concerned about the health of our children, check out Let's Move. If you're anywhere, check out Jamie Oliver's campaigns, here.
Forza Azzurri! Yes, but this was close. Are you trying to give Giulia's editor a tremendous case of the vapors? We are too delicate for such suspense. Here are two photographs of the 2006 World Cup champion festivities in Roma (the first shot is a few seconds before they won) via Giampaolo Macorig's camera. To remind people that they did win, they can win again, that they are not "old" (OK, a little), & because instead of working, we have been watching the match. Over & out, we pass out in front of the fan. (GG is already there.) Oof.
We can't resist posting this from the Steeler Nation page on the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette website. Look closely at the eyes--those aren't red from the camera. GG is furious that she can't be photographed in gear...really, she just needs something in basic black, as she is golden red. Next year, GG, next year. (name of cat unknown, photo by SqueeksTater) Don't you wish you could be at the Obama Super Bowl party? The Steelers organization, from Mr. Rooney to the players (active & retired) to the staff, actively campaigned for Obama. Our friend Maria Caterina di Perugia collected player autographs for us late last winter while on the Pennsylvania campaign trail. Yay!
You go, guys. We'll be watching & hollering in a most unbecoming manner. Can't wait...these tough times call for free spectacle on television. You can't beat Steelers for history, toughness, & mettle. (The real Big Ben watch face, by Alex Holland, via scan. Here's where to go to buy his affordable art.)
