Friday a.m. update - Giulia's editor remains in exile (for writing purposes) at a coffee shop. The little redheaded one remains at home. It's hot. As the kids say, this blows. All of it. Don't even get us started on the debt ceiling talks.
If you're in the Washington, DC area, Catapalooza II at the Washington Animal Rescue League is ON for Sunday. Stop by even if you're not adopting because the shelter is a great place to meet people, too. GG needs a lot of consoling today because she's had a very difficult week. Even her ears are drooping. Her editor will try to take her home very soon. (We promise, GG!) Meanwhile, she's lying on a sofa watching The AristoCats (at her friend Hermione's house) & pretending to be French.
All this fighting about Solzhenitsyn's legacy has us down. So we're back to flooffing & flooping...and that means a pretty photo from somewhere in France or Italy or Greece or...something Mediterranean. And we'll choose it & post it without editing or recipes (for the initial draft). Or maybe we'll go crazy & just post several non-related photos. The sole common denominator being that they please the eye & bring up memories--past or soon-to-be made. Except here is a tidbit of enlightenment about Vence...
