Les marguerites de Marrakesh

For Anna at Mit Herz und Hand, who would like to go to Morocco. GG's editor is called elsewhere today. Enjoy. Visit some of our favorite sites on the page, especially Darfur Peace & Development Organization (DPDO). Visit Anna, too, & encourage her Moroccan musings.... Would you like to go? Have you? Either way, what are some of your favorite things about Morocco (& Moroccans)? We love to hear about everyone's experiences...even if we don't get to your comment right away, we will. Get your tootsie-frootsie ice cream here! (& a geranium from the Cleverest of Pups)

A huge thank you to The Clever Pup for not only a congratulations on our one-year achievement but original art! She has lifted our seriously sagging spirits after a long slog home. More on Mme Pup soon--when we can do her justice. But go, just go to her site. A fascinating (& of course, clever) experience awaits you. Merci, mille grazie, Pup!

For the uninitiated "
tootsie-frootsie ice cream" is a famous line in A Day at the Races. It never fails to crack up GG's editor, even in these tough times. The sprinkled ice cream cone image is another gift, available to all bloggers, musicians, indies, non-profits, etc. Go here for professional D. Sharon Pruitt's flickr set for people like GG's editor! Here is her professional website, Pink Sherbet Photography.

Jacquie Lawson Greeting Cards

Jacquie Lawson is a British artist who lives in the village of Lurgashall in Southern England. Together with a small team of family and friends, she has developed a unique collection of e-cards, and about 20 cards are added to the collection every year.

In order to cover the substantial costs of running a site that sometimes has to cope with thousands of downloads a day, we charge a very small annual membership fee. This enables our members to send as many e-cards as they like -- there is no effective limit -- for the duration of their membership. [from Jacquielawson.com]

Last December, a British friend gave us a subscription & we have thoroughly enjoyed it. Jacquie Lawson e-cards have delighted friends & family--when is the last time that happened with most things "e-postal"? {We waited too long to send a request regarding still-image use, so above is a quickly cobbled together from the amazing Vintage Holiday Crafts & Clip Art site.}

GG's card recipients haven't received a single item of spam or advertising due to Jacquie's site. Preview one of the new Christmas cards with the adorable Bertie & Fluff characters (a golden retriever & tuxedo kitten, respectively), featuring an English children's choir & the related story. After that, we think you will want to subscribe or gift someone (or both). There are cards for every occasion, the site is easily navigable, & an organizational wonder.

Cheers!

Three Little Kittens

For holiday gifts, in these difficult times, remember thrift stores, eBay, & take a look at Vintage Children's Books. There are adorable children's books in very good shape for very little money. And don't forget the mittens...cute ones to knit (free patterns!), here. If you don't have time, look here. Yes, this also was an excuse to put in cute kittens; we can't help it...it's GG's fault. Upcoming posts next week on free holiday clipart, The House of Mouse (finally!), frugal but delicious desserts, & more decorating tips from people far more chic than GG Central (though we do have our moments).
