Sparkly Sunday Night with GG

Regular visitors here know that Giulia rarely makes an appearance. She's rather demanding when it comes to grooming (in addition to suggested remuneration fees--which we are ignoring, thank you). Here is a rare moment of calm between fairy lights & GG. She alternates between suspicions that fairy lights suddenly coalesce into a monster to yum, these sparkly lights must be tasty. Otherwise, why would her editor shriek the moment a snaggletooth makes contact with a light tip? Oof.

GG's Editor Hits Roof, Needs Peeling from Ceiling

GG has turned into a feline Pippi Longstocking. She has been so very devilish that her editor has to rest, perhaps for the rest of the month. Maybe until after the Fourth of July; we'll see. (Saving the world is all well & good, Giulia, but get your own computer!)

Les Modes

It's a busy week, therefore some fun is most necessary. Last night GG & her editor were looking at hats & old French fashion magazines. These are covers from Les Modes (a French fashion magazine) to entertain & inspire you. All are watercolors by Félix Fournery, 1908 (via LIFE archives). Look at those hats in the first image. Wow. GG is desperate for a summer hat...but her ears, where do we put her ear-tips? (She does not like the cut-out option. We can never win with her.) It is our considered opinion that GG should wear green feathers in her red-orange hair (like the third lovely lady). Very fashionable & chic, non?

Happy St. David's Day from GG

Dodging red dragons, leek-wearing hockey fans (we remain neutral in public), & poets declaiming Wordsworth (it's a pretty interesting neighborhood), we're off to purchase party supplies. Giulia remains in loaf mode, mooching about the house. She has appointed her editor as chief organizer of GG Central's St. David's Day Celebration (1 March 2010). This is not very sporting of her but she does not care because she is a cat. Therefore, without further ado, we present a gorgeous shot of two lovely daffodils & must run to the store.

Sunday Snow

GG is mad to frolic in the deep snow & is disappointed to be denied. She threatens to resume Christmas tree vandalism with reckless abandon. Her editor remains unperturbed as only unbreakables adorn the tree at this point. (Ha!) A few sights from around the Washington, DC area after our big storm.
