George

Eleven years ago today, George Harrison died. What a terrible day that was & he is so missed. But you can remember him by visiting the new George Harrison YouTube channel & watch the glorious Concert for George in its entirety (for 24 hours only). Remember to visit George Harrison (& UNICEF, too) for more information on how to keep up with news because there is always something to discover.

It's an under-the-weather day here so off for toast & tea & George. And a tumblr full of musicians with kittens.:) xoxo

Lost & Found

Oof. What a day, what a week, what a year. OK, it's only been 27 days but still...we'll be back sometime over the weekend. Our favorite thing from today's internet travels: Here Comes The Sun: The Lost Guitar Solo via Open Culture. Go see it! And then blast the song on your music blaster of choice. (If you don't have it, gasp.) Remember to visit The Beatles website.

Have a lovely evening.

War is Over! (If You Want It)

This is another popular search on GG. You can download any number of the more than 100 translations of the famous card by John & Yoko, here, on flickr. There is also a request from the administrators to help with translations & a big thank you for those who have helped so far. Check it out if you see something that needs attention.

Yoko suggests that people print & display in windows, schools, workplaces, cars & elsewhere over the holiday season, and send as postcards to your friends. We have a few hanging up on the wall near our desk.
Also visit Imagine Peace for more updates about projects there.

It's Been a Hard Day's Night

We're still sitting in the midst of a computer crisis so we'll not be able to watch A Hard Day's Night on Netflix Instant (tonight) but you can. Also, the National Museums Liverpool has a fun page, The Beatles Games. The big daddy of the sites is, of course, The Beatles. Have fun & have a great weekend!

Some Fun Tonight

GG's editor is under-the-weather. We'll try to be back later this week. Meanwhile, you can listen to your Beatles music. Nothing makes us feel better than that. You can read fun facts & play the video of their first concert in America (here in DC!). (photograph via Amy McGarrah on Pinterest)

War Is Over! (If You Want It) - Free Downloads

Download copies (five different sizes) of the original poster by John Lennon & Yoko Ono at Imagine Peace. There are 100 versions in languages other than English. We bet your family & friends would love to have one (they don't know it yet, that's all). As a bonus, Happy Xmas plays in the background. Pretty nice deal, eh? (images via Imagine Peace)

Strawberry Fields Forever

Visit Imagine Peace & send your best wishes in honor of John's 70th birthday. Also, remember to play The Beatles (always!) & dance wildly like Giulia. (It helps.)

With a little help from his friends

A welcome, cheerful piece from Michael Cuffe's The Obama Experiment. Here's a video of Michael recreating the painting. Thanks, Michael! We need this because there are some sore losers out there. Wow. Can't you wait one day to start your whining & carrying on? It is so unbecoming.
