It's Been a Hard Day's Night

We're still sitting in the midst of a computer crisis so we'll not be able to watch A Hard Day's Night on Netflix Instant (tonight) but you can. Also, the National Museums Liverpool has a fun page, The Beatles Games. The big daddy of the sites is, of course, The Beatles. Have fun & have a great weekend!

Wednesday Wishes - Venice Edition

Along with the famous Japanese cherry blossoms, we have an Italian festival going on, too. One of the main events is the ongoing Canaletto exhibit at the National Gallery of Art. Bella.

Other things to do if you can't be Venice (or Washington):

Visit Canaletto,
The Complete Works.

Visit the Guggenheim/Venice
museum.

Visit Caffè Florian - plan your order for when you arrive:)

Check out Donna Leon's latest
Commissario Guido Brunetti mystery. (He's so cool.)

Make risi bisi, a classic (& easy) Venetian dish

Check in with Carol of
Paris Breakfasts; she's back in Paris via Venice.

Write a Letter

Don't you love getting letters through the mail? It is one of the most personal and meaningful means of communication. Revive the art of letter writing—write a letter to a friend! Begin by creating your own personal stationery, here at the Smithsonian's National Postal Museum's site. (The Activity Zone has many other fun ideas, too.) Do we have to remind you that, ahem, you probably owe some thank-you cards? (photograph by the ghost factory on flickr via The Benevolent Postcard Society)

Happy Third Day of Christmas!

GG in les Tuileries

GG & her editor can dream, non? We would watch the little kids & their sailboats...people watch, flip through a new Vogue (Zola or Balzac at night), go to a Ladurée shop for a macaron (or two). New York artist Carol Gillott of lovely Paris Breakfasts is off to Paris soon. We wish her a safe journey & look forward to reaping the vicarious rewards of her photography & watercolors upon her return.

We're having some computer troubles so we must go. We have much to report about the Tents of Hope gathering. And GG's big news--for Halloween, she'll be GG the Plumber. We think she's made an excellent choice.

Ciao-meow, xoxo
