In Case You Were Wondering...Obama 2012

There haven't been political posts here because we're not feeling up to much of anything--it must show. If we've done anything positive lately, it has been of the get-out-the-vote variety. You can do the same by visiting the Obama/Biden 2012 website. You can join with others at a call center or make calls (free) from your home. You could also volunteer to drive the elderly & disabled to the polls. There is a lot to do. It's now just under 4 weeks away. Do something. Please. xo

Yes We Did!

GG & her editor for Obama

Pardon us while we clutch our smelling salts later this evening. No kidding. This calls for a stop at McGinty's. The Quarry House? [in GG world aka The Quandary House.] Both? Call us. No kidding.

Bike for Barack

As always, from democraticstuff.com. Here's a link to Bike Washington for cycling in the DC-area. GG is still waiting for her editor to: 1) obtain new bicycle; 2) attach a front basket; 3) put GG in the basket; 4) ramble around town (for all to admire GG). Sadly, it will be quite a while for the realization of GG's feline fantasy. But we will try out our friend Maria Caterina di Perugia's new Gigi bike soon. If a bicycle can be adorable, it is definitely adorable.

Vote, vote, vote. Volunteer, volunteer, volunteer. We are so filled with election anxiety, onset of the vapors is possible; in which case, our having voted absentee in early October was a prescient move.

Bark for Barack

Or woof, if you like. GG has many, many canine friends & their humans. Visit the campaign site, democraticstuff.com, the Big Bad Woof (in Takoma Park, MD & DC--they also have gear for la gattina) & the Washington Humane Society. Read about the amazing new way they handle adoptions. Animal protection/adoption folks visit from all over the world & take ideas to their countries. It's genius.

Please go to BarackObama.com to get a list of undecided voters to call. It's nearly painless.

Don't Be Bashful

Any help you can give, especially calling people, is so helpful. Even if you're bashful (get your pin here), you can do it. Sign up here. You can call from home. When you get an ornery person on the other end, it's a good opportunity to build personal patience. It's not so bad. Would we lie? (We would not.) Watch Barack make phone calls here.

Remember to watch Obama tonight at 8.00pm (on all networks except for ABC).

You don't have your pumpkin yet?

Well why ever not? Get moving. Friday will be here before you know it. And yes, this pin is a little weird, but until the election something will be posted every day & GG's editor is in a mad rush. As always, from democraticstuff.com. We expect our friends & family to send us photos of their trick or treaters. This means you! [It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown will be on TV tomorrow evening in the U.S. Don't pretend you don't watch it.]

Brunettes for Obama

We're having computer & network trouble. Egad. So pardon us while we brood, worry, & wonder how we will have it fixed. Off to tend to our roots sans hairdresser. Due to financial disaster we are stretching out hair appointments: our one luxury (GG is an absolute necessity). Fume.

Book Lovers for Obama

Here is Politics & Prose Bookstore's link--with the events calendar. If you're visiting the DC-area, we're sure you'd feel very welcome there. Look for GG...it's her favorite bookstore. The campaign pin, as always, is from democraticstuff.com.

Wake up, put on your glasses, & vote!

No we're not an optometrist...but GG's editor wears glasses (sometimes) & goes to a fabulous optician in Georgetown (not everything in G-town is expensive--relatively speaking). We don't even know if Virginia B. is an Obama supporter but actually, we don't have to ask. This is but one of hundreds of campaign buttons available. [Yes, we know the difference between an optician & an optometrist. Here is ours; he's really good.]

Watch the debate! Here's the lottery for debate question submissions...Tom Brokaw has received tens of thousands (at least) so it's participation in theory only.

Beekeepers for Obama

We're back on the campaign buttons again. Yes, it's lazy, we're busy (as a bee). Here is an article, a poem, & a recipe pertaining to matters apian.

Blue Eyes for Obama

This is about all we have to say today (that is printable), in the midst of such (preventable) terrible economic/world news. GG had her pin, & now GG's editor has hers. Both & more available here.

Cat Lovers for Obama

GG Central overwhelmed with work, the real kind. GG's editor did return home late last evening thinking about Spain, but it was really about Javier Bardem's film - not Spain. (Don't worry if you don't follow...all will become clear eventually.) GG's editor had this big Spanish/ flamenco/design/food/great earrings/stuff in mind & life intrudes. So just a little statement of support here until later. Fantastic Obama pins of all sorts were featured on A Cup of Jo a few days ago. This is but one of several we'd love to have.

Good-night, all
xoxo, GG
