Holiday Lips

Giulia's editor is mid-computer crisis panic. It's not pretty but here are some pretty lipsticks. Yet another red-lipstick-is-it guide from The Guardian. Several favorites are on their list. Also, Joanna has excellent links, like this latest lipstick. Wish we could wear it. Beso has a Three Makeup Pick-me-ups that look good, too.

We'll try to be back tomorrow...

Kitchen Flowers

We are in the midst of a computer crisis here (since early Tuesday). While we sort it out, here's a link to 7 Spots to Display Flowers (besides the kitchen table) for a little inspiration. The photo is our kitchen window with some Pixlr-o-matic effects; the flowers salvaged from an aging fair-trade chrysanthemum bouquet.

Don't forget to visit links here & on bricolage. If you plan to post on IKEA's Soft Toy Aid campaign, let us know in the comments over there, OK? Hope your week is going better than ours. Ugh.

It's Cherry Season

The Bing cherry is a favorite but other varieties (such as the Rainier & the Queen Anne) are gaining in popularity every year. Life may not be a bowl of cherries, but few things so simple can make people so happy. Even Giulia is enamored of this stone fruit, much like her comrade-in-fur in the photograph. Here are more cherry recipes than you probably know what to do with...that Martha, she's on top of it, as usual.

Remember to visit the new litter of kittens at the Itty Bitty Kitty Committee. We're down to the last week of the fundraiser & there are treats galore waiting for you. Following a litter of kittens from their shaky start to their adoption is a good thing. Trust us.

She Doesn't Get It

We're still trying to sort out this internetz connection crisis. Talk amongst yourselves. Visit the links on the right sidebar; also visit GG's editor on her blog where she is also complaining or on Twitter. She'll be sitting in a coffee shop in Washington, DC later today. You'll recognize her because she'll be shaking her head & saying out loud, "I don't get it! I absolutely don't get it!" Giulia is so glad that she can stay home.

Go Fish

We're having a serious internetz crisis at GG Central. We're in a cafe typing this post. While we work around it, please stay cool. Inside, if possible. If children are pestering you as you read this, print some fish & ocean animal coloring pages for free. Hand out crayons. Deep breathe.

We'll be by to visit other blogs & comment as soon as possible. We are tweeting @juliethecat if you'd like to finally join & keep us company.

Roman view - Week's End

Please visit humanitarian sites here or elsewhere. That scream you hear is GG's editor tossing the computer out a window! (photo by the incomparable, surreal Giampaolo Macorig, grazie, signore)

Blue hyacinth

Computer troubles continue but this blue hyacinth macro by Tracey Tilson of Images by Tracey cheers us up immensely. It also reminds us that, cold rain notwithstanding, spring officially begins this Friday! Thank you Tracey for your permission to use your beautiful image. Please visit Tracey's site, here, for more gorgeous sights. Now if we could just have a hyacinth on the desk like in this post, everything would seem ever so much better.

Listen to the radio...

Sings Nanci Griffith & we agree. We'd be lost without it. Especially with computer trouble.
