Sourpuss

The sourpuss being the finger-wagger. Poor pooch. This is from the State Library of New South Wales archives . This man is an artist? We don't see a thing except a scold lecturing his pup. It might have been staged, though. Just to give the man a break. Still, it reminded us to give everyone a little reprieve (one day) from virtual finger wagging & nagging. .One day. You have been warned!

Happy Birthday to the Cleverest of Pups - Week's End

A brief break in zee hiatus to wish The Clever Pup's author a lovely birthday tomorrow, Friday, 26 June. We are so keen that you visit her that we're giving you the hint a day early. Go forth & learn to be clever (& give her your best wishes). Now. (GG is bossy, what can we say?)

a ciao-cheeky-happy-birthday-meow to Mme. Pup!

Zoe the Australian Police Dog, on the scene

While GG Central calms down from a technicolor anniversary celebration (& while her editor works on Darfur issues; nurses an infected cracked tooth until scary repairs commence (I know!); & responds to a funny tag by the Talented Tina Tarnoff), Zoe the Police Dog will gently oversee activities. That's a radio in her backpack, isn't she darling? GG is yawning & floopy because it's a damp, cloudy, sleepy day, here in Washington, DC. She's happy for Zoe to take over (for now).Worlds collide more than usual, this week. And it's only Tuesday... [Zoe by Sam Hood, 1939, State Library of NSW Archives]

Tess the Police Dog

GG's editor is running behind, more than usual. All sorts of intrigue is about & so we leave (for much of today), in all confidence, everything in the ever-so-capable paws of Tess the Police Dog. We're sure she'd want you to visit some of the links on this site, especially Darfur Peace & Development Organization (DPDO). Hey, the space-time continuum--we don't know it all! As I was saying: ¡Hola!

Time constraints, so the chatty Blanquita will do the talking this morning. (Eli in the background is thinking, "Do we have a choice? Sigh.") Here's their humorous human mom's flickrstream [Marianne Perdomo, animal whisperer & rescuer extraordinaire].

NB: This is a feline-approved photo, bien sûr (GG likes dogs).

Christmas Cat Party

Two wonderful photos from photographer & animal rescue heroine Marianne Perdomo of Gran Canaria. She of the Alvar cat photo (A Blue-eyed Snowflake Cat), here. Marianne captures a funny scene which we imagine as holiday party gone a bit wild. (GG claims the dog started it; we're not buying it because GG is an instigator extraordinaire.) In the second photo, we imagine the after-party floops. {Follow the story about Peque, Susi & Robyn, the floopy kitties in the basket, here.)

Computer trouble & GG's antics this a.m. make us late...not the lovely, but quite tame, holiday party we went to last evening. Check out Marianne's photostream at flickr. [Some photos also available via animalphoto, another great resource.] Have a great Saturday.
