GG's Winter Break

Update - Watch Egypt news on Al-Jazeera Live, here.

How unpleasant to be under spam & hack attacks. While we sort this out & try to feel better, too, a mini-break. GG & her editor plan to be back in time for Valentine's Day. (Update - we didn't make it back but hope you had a lovely Valentine's Day. Message from GG's editor, here)

For a dose of a great big talented heart, visit Jeff Bridges's fabulous interactive website. Dudes, you will totally feel better. Guaranteed.

Tuesday Tulips

Giulia is snoozing, the icy rain is falling, & GG's editor remains, boringly enough, under-the-weather. If we could take a walk today, we'd be on the look-out for a bunch of tulips. Alas, it remains a virtual experience for now. (Isn't the bicycle a beauty?)

More tulips: Abby Try Again in the tulip fields of Oregon. Pretty tulip necklace (only $20.00). Another tulip tour, this time in the Netherlands (scads of photographs). A winter tulip arrangement using bits & pieces of leftover holiday greenery. Fun tech: a USB tulip hub. Definitely on our wish list.

Party Like It's 1959

What if some of the most famous online services were launched in 1959? You would have "Everything Ages Fast" Faux Vintage Ads. From Apartment Therapy Unplggd via Teya Rutherford's Little Chuckles on Pinterest). Back to supervising Giulia--she wants to tweet...not sure if this is a good idea. Back tomorrow for New Year's Eve. xo

What is The Giving Effect ?

A national movement getting food, gently-used items & more to people in need. From people like you! Donate your things. Change lives.

Genius idea. We bet you have stuff you can give in your local area.

Funny Christmas Cookies

"I'm melting....ahhhhh." Here's an amusing idea if you happen to have some sugar cookie dough around (if not, it takes 5-7 minutes to whip some up--that's a scientific fact, by the way.). This is Meaghan Mountford's Decorated Cookie blog version. (Found via the Best of Pinterest & Crazy Domestic blogs. Thanks!)

GG Takes a Hike - Week's End

We're off to take an urban hike but mainly GG's editor is fussing about with a new banner & template colors. A trip to Brookside Gardens is planned for the weekend. Here is their cool (new-to-us) online botanical drawing gallery. Giulia is fuming that the website says: no pets at the gardens. She is claiming service animal status. It's true that she has an invitation to become a "licensed" therapy cat. (Seriously.) Have a good weekend! (photograph by laura trevey via rachel follet/lovely clusters)
