Such a large tummy/ I can't wash it all at once/ A squeegee would help. -- Cat Food Breath
The funniest cat on Twitter now has a website. That's right: Cat Food Breath is now entertaining supplicants at more than 140 characters. Those of you who resist Twitter & Facebook can partake of the wit & wisdom of a 17-pound Siamese with a sushi habit. CFB stays au courant, as well, so #OccupytheCouch is now part of the Twitterverse.
CFB brightens our day with pithy one-liners, haiku (original & um, reworked), & philosophical asides, even fashion advice (accessorize with cat fur. It's gonna happen anyway). Not a day goes by without a laugh-out-loud moment. Or several. This is not a one-sided affair either; CFB will gladly converse with you & set you straight as to who is the boss. Be sure to use the word 'cute' in any reference to CFB, it will smooth the way. Here is a funny interview that CFB gave to the lovely author of paper bag & string (& of the website Careers For Your Cat, more about which soon).
What follows are some original haiku by the master. Read in bemused tone as if to an oaf. Used by permission.
Has your cat been fed?/ Don't let the bowl stay empty/ Kitty needs food now.
Are you wearing black? / Accessorize with cat fur/ You will look stunning.
Quit hogging the bed/ You are always on my side/ I need more pillows.
Where's my crunchy food? / My bowl seems to be empty/ Fill it now or else.

This is a head scratchin' & shakin' thing. It's a Seinfeld episode. Woman ticketed for wearing a short skirt while cycling. Where is this? New. York. City. * Pls see update at end of post.
From Cycle Chic Copenhagen yesterday: "What may appear as a joke has proved to be yet another ridiculous incident involving uninformed police officers stopping cyclists for fictional infractions or to chastise them with self-invented rules." Visit Cycle Chic Copenhagen for more photographs, including one of the (alleged) ticketee.
Update - we're checking out reports that this is a hoax. Very uncool, if so. The fact that ticketing has happened elsewhere made it seem probable. Will update. Still, check out the cool skirt-wearing posts at Cycle Chic. Also, there will be a #shortskirtcelebrationride in NYC.
Update (again) Here's are details from Maureen at Inspired Cyclists. A terrific blog, btw. A celebration ride is being planned for Thursday, 7pm, starting at Columbus Circle. If you're on Twitter, search the hashtag #biknyc for details. Giulia the Cat & her editor will be there in spirit. In short-shorts!
Between 1933 and 1945, millions of children were displaced as a result of Nazi persecution. Now, more than 65 years later, the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum is using postwar photos and the power of the online community to find out what happened to these children.
You can help by going to Remember Me to browse through some 1,100 photos of displaced children and share them with your family and friends. Who knows, you might even hold a clue that could identify a child, reunite relatives, or piece together a wartime or postwar experience.
The more people who see the photos, the greater the chance of identifying these children and raising awareness about the experiences of the most vulnerable victims of war and genocide.
Please share this with your family & friends on Facebook & Twitter. Thank you.

(original post from 19 September 2008; Update: still find it slightly alarming.) On the other hand, some field workers & reporters in dangerous places in the world (& others who do not go on about eating ham sandwiches) have found it very helpful. As with Facebook, no one said you have to update your every thought. In fact, we beg you to stop it. The 'what are you thinking/doing' is merely a prompt, a suggestion; not a command. Something to keep in mind. You can contact juliethecat if you like; she has a restricted account. (Update - it's unrestricted. C'mon over!) Since this post, a Twitter Tips site has sprung (along with widgets). Have fun.]Giulia & her editor find this Twitter business amusing & slightly terrifying. We signed up because friends around the world kept sending us messages that they wanted to 'follow' us. Yikes. We still aren't sure how we feel but we love, love, love this logo detail & want this adorable bird on GG's site. ciao-tweet-meow/GG
